In a lawsuit described in subsection (a) for a violation described in that subsection, remedies (including remedies in both law and equity) are available for the violation to the same extent that such remedies are available for such violation in a lawsuit against any public or private entity other than a State, an instrument of a State, or an official or employee of a State acting in its official capacity. C) records documenting the manufacture, sale or receipt of things implicated in such violation, provided that records seized under this subparagraph are placed in the custody of the court. Civil penalties faced by a person found guilty of violating these laws may include monetary fines based on the magnitude of the violation, as well as monetary compensation for the time and resources dedicated to tracking and processing the violation. This letter, also called a cease and desist notice, typically requires that the infringing or infringing activity be stopped immediately.
